1st Burnmoor Scouts are very lucky to have an amazing space for both our group members and the community to enjoy, the grounds are continually being developed and also require ongoing maintenance, we couldn’t achieve this without the help from volunteers.
To ensure the safety of everyone, 1st Burnmoor have the Grounds Work Safety Policy.
Grounds Work safty policy
- Everyone is responsible for the health and safety of themselves and others.
- Young people must be accompanied by an adult and remain under their supervision at all times.
- All adults must ensure they do not put themselves in a situation where they are alone with an under 18 y/o, ensure you remain in sight of other adults at all times when young people are present.
- Any concerns should be raised with a group member who will be able to pass on the information as per the group and Scouting policies.
- Equipment belonging to 1st Burnmoor can be used within the grounds, ensure:
- It is in working order.
- Report any damage.
- Only use equipment you know how to use and are confident using.
- Ensure equipment is put away after use.
- Equipment must not be taken from the site unless with express permission from a Group Scout Leader and must be returned after the agreed period.
- Any injuries or accidents must be reported to a group member who will be able to pass on the information as per the group and Scouting policies.
- No smoking in the presence of young people.
- Under 18s must not consume alcohol under any circumstances.

The 1st Burnmoor Continuous Quoits League.
Rules:
- Any game of Quoits played between 1st Burnmoor members can count towards the league, the number of plays and wins will be recorded.
- It will be agreed before the start of the game by both/all players that the score will submitted to the league table.
- In cases of a doubles match, each player is playing for their own play/win score.
- The League Table will be sorted by a win percentage.
- Players will move into the League Table after 5 games, until then, games are recorded in the Qualification Table.
- Game plays need to be sent to Stephen Bailey who will add them to the League Table.

1st Burnmoor Scout Group is well equipped with camping equipment including tents, kitchen and our 5-star toilets, our members need to have their own personal kit too.
Here's what you'll need in your personal kit:
- Full Uniform to be worn travelling to camp.
- Sleeping Bag. (1, leaders will carry spares) (We recommend a 2 or 3 season sleeping bag to keep comfortable at our camps and sleepovers).
- Roll Mat. (1) (Roll mats are also required to sleep comfortably at camp, we recommend a foam mat or self-inflating mat).
- Rucksack. (1) (We recommend a rucksack for bringing kit to camp, a 65 litre is a good size).
- Daysack. (1) (We recommend a daysack for camp big enough for waterproofs and a water bottle for when we're off on adventures).
- Camp Blanket. (1)
- Walking boots or strong shoes. (1 pair)
- Old Training Shoes / Sandals. (1 pair)
- Waterproof Outer Garments. (1)
- Torch & Batteries. (1)
- Water bottle. (1)
- Coat hanger for uniform. (1)
- Plate / bowl / cup / knife / fork / spoon. (1 set)
- Tea Towel. (1)
- Sun cream / Insect repellent.
- Personal Wash Kit / Toiletries.
- Towel. (1, 2 for a week-long camp)
- Hoodie / Warm Jumper. (1, 2 for a week-long camp)
- Casual Trousers. (1 pair)
- T-Shirts. (1 for each day, less for a week-long camp)
- Shorts, are to be worn on site for almost all of the activities. (1 pair for every 2 days)
- Swimwear. (1 set)
- Underclothes. (1 per day)
- Pyjamas. (1 set, 2 for a week-long camp)
- Warm Coat. (1)
Scouts should be able to fit all their personal kit into a 65-litre rucksack.
What not to bring:
- Electronics including radios, media players etc.
- Mobile Phones. (There are lots of reasons not to be bringing phones which cover safety, safeguarding and our InTouch policy. Any phones found will be confiscated and returned to their parents).
- Duvet or pillow.
- Camp bed or inflatable mattress.
- Suitcases.
- Aerosols.
- Makeup.
- Toys (a teddy is ok).
- Food or Sweets.
